RULES/CLASSES

The King of the Hill series will use AMA rules with a few exceptions/additions.  Please be familiar with these rules before the series begins.  If a rider begins the series in a class in which they are not eligible for, his/her points cannot be transfered from one class to another.

THERE WILL BE NO POINT DROPS IN 2008!!!

YOU GET THE POINTS YOU EARN.

Click on the AMA logo below to view the general rules.  The following are some exceptions:

Please respect and obey all rules posted at each track.

Pit speeds are FIRST GEAR at every track.

Please note the class structure on 50cc thru 85cc bikes.  JR riders are not allowed to race in the SR classes.  We have added a 50cc open and a 65cc open class to provide riders with more options.

50cc senior sized bikes are not allowed to race in the 4-6 class, regardless of the riders age.  If a rider has ONLY a senior sized bike, and is less than 7 years of age, they will be allowed to race in the 7-8 class because of their bike size.

PARENTS of 50cc riders are allowed to enter the track area during 50cc races ONLY.  Spectators are prohibited from entering the track area during races of 65cc & larger machines. This applies to all tracks in this series.

Beginner classes are for those who have not raced at all until this year.

Specific tracks may have restrictions on obsticles that beginner riders are not allowed to attempt.

Four stroke machines are allowed in the Schoolboy class.

Eligibility for "C" class riders is based on AMA requirements.  Advancement points are assigned to each rider based on his or her performance during the previous year.  There is no longer a set number of years that one can ride "C" class. Anyone who has raced at Loretta's is not eligible for "C" class. Please click on the AMA logo below to view the details.

Motorcycles are required to have three number plates, all of which display the rider's number clearly.

Quads are required to have a kill cord, nerf bars, and  FRONT AND REAR NUMBER PLATES that display the rider's number clearly. An inspection of such equipment will take place at the gate before practice.

Riders must complete a minimum of 7 out of the 11 series races to be eligable for series awards.  Races will run "Rain or Shine", unless severe weather occurs, in which case the track owner may delay the race until conditions approve or cancel the event.

Riders must cross the finish line under the checkered flag to give them points eligibility for that race.
